I will be in Kazakhstan July 29 to August 1. I expect these dates to change because of logistical issues with my trip (depends on availability of flights and other transportation). I will fly into Almaty and then leave by driving west along the mountains and then south into Bishkek. In Almaty I will spend most of my time at the Institute of Microbiology and Virology talking with my project colleagues. Almaty, like Bishkek and Dushanbe, has beautiful mountains nearby, in fact the mountains here form the border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
