Brazil Itinerary

Tuesday night we are leaving for Brazil. My students are Jared, Katie, Rotem, Tom, Virian, and Vanessa. We have our passports, visas, tickets, and are all anxious to go. We will first fly Newark to Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, arriving Wednesday afternoon the 21st. We will spend Thanksgiving on the beach! I hope we can find some turkey! Helaine, my professor friend from the University of Sao Paulo in Piricacaba, will join us in Rio on Friday moring. We leave Rio very, very, very early Sunday morning the 25th and first fly to Sao Paulo and then drive to Sao Carlos. In this city is the USP campus specializing in engineering. There we will join hundreds of USP undergraduate students who will present posters on their research. Tuesday night the 27th we will drive to Pirassununga. In this city is one of the USP campuses that specializes in agriculture. There we will also join hundreds of USP undergraduate students who will present posters on their research. Friday the 30th we depart for Sao Paulo where we will spend two days touring the city. We fly back to Newark overnight Saturday night. Maps are courtesy of http://www.maps.com/ and Google maps.
