Looking ahead ...

I have good news for the vast audience of my "Gerben's Travails" blog (sorry .... I meant "Travels," maybe this is a Freudian slip, my subconscious told my fingers to type the wrong word because I really don't like traveling? Or maybe because I spend to much time working while traveling? Who knows?). I am now planning a trip to Brazil at the end of November. Those readers who travel vicariously through my blog will have something to look forward to. I will be going to Rio de Janeiro for Thanksgiving and then to Sao Paulo, San Carlos, and Pirassununga the last week in November. Rio for Thanksgiving is strictly a fun trip while the week after Thanksgiving will be spent on three different campuses of the University of Sao Paulo in three different cities, visiting during the time of their spring undergraduate research symposia. Joining me will be several Rutgers undergraduate students who will present posters on their research at the San Carlos (engineering school) and Pirassununga (agriculture school) symposia. Blog postings will begin the third week of November. Anticipation is a large part of the joy of traveling.
